James Fox Exhibtion – Nov 2017

Following on from his recent residency at the museum, James Fox’s exhibition will be open until 2nd December.

JamesFox2I did not managed to catch any of James’s open studio sessions while he was there but visited his work-space. Some of his previous work was on show and there were glimpses of the Liberty theme he was working on during this residency. What I saw has persuaded me to make another trip to Aylesbury soon and see the finished results.

Paula’s Workshop Update

I  have been meaning to give Paula a mention for a while – I haven’t managed to pin her down for a workshop but she does offer classes in other venues. Her sessions are always a creativity boost, like a big helping of sunshine, so do take a look at her future dates on  frecklesandflowersgirl.blogspot.co.uk

Material Girls at Loughton

The Material Girls are a group of mixed media and textile artists who have been exhibiting together since 2001. Their exhibition “Environmental Essex” takes inspiration from the natural habitats of the group’s home county. Previously shown earlier this year at the Essex Wildlife Trust Visitor Centre,  the exhibition is now showing at Loughton Arts Centre. Unfortunately their website has no information about it so it might be a good idea to contact them before visiting and have a quick look at the Material Girls’ website.

Events at the Royal School of Needlework

Embellishment in Fashion opened in September 2017 at the RSN headquarters in Hampton Court Palace.  Booking is essential as admission to this is by ticket only, starting at £16, for a tour and talk. Full details are available through the link above.

Also coming soon are open days for prospective students , if you think you might like to enroll on a course.

There are also a few spaces available on day courses between now and Christmas – I notice that Nicola Jarvis’s class is fully booked – at £120 it shows what good value our members got last year when she visited us!
