As part of Hertforshire Branch’s commitment to the educational objectives of the Embroiderers’ Guild a new venture will be launched in January 2018. Branch members will be invited to take part in HertsTAG*, a project involving the Embroiderers’ Guild Collection held at Bucks County Museum.
Taking inspiration from items in the EG Collection, members will be creating textile pieces of their own, for an exhibition.
The recent Beautiful Stitch Exhibition, at Buck County Museum, illustrated the wide range of embroidery and textile items held in the EG Collection. The project will start with visits to the Museum’s Resource Centre, where members will be able to view a selection of items from the exhibition and wider collection. Project members may also arrange further visits to the Centre for individual research on these and other items.
HertsTAG* would follow the example of Threads of Time in providing an opportunity for members of all abilities to come together and develop their own way of working through sharing, research and exploration. We are lucky that this branch has members with an extensive range of skills, knowledge and abilities. One of the purposes of HertsTAG* would be to encourage and support learning from each other through regular, themed group meetings.
If you think you might be interested in joining Herts TAG* talk to a member of the team at meetings or email us on firstname.lastname@example.org
Full information will be available at the January branch meeting.
