Saturday 2nd December 2017 – Jenny Adin-Christie

Guest Speaker and Seasonal Nibbles

An all day meeting with time to mingle and have some fun in the morning. Followed by a Pot-Luck lunch provided by all of us ….. don’t worry, we don’t tip everything into a pot an stir it, we have not got a big enough pot.

The morning will include a Christmas themed ATC swap and a mysterious game involving pictures of us as children! So dig out a photo of yourself aged 5 or less (but not a baby photo please) and get going on an ATC. If you don’t know what an ATC is ask us at a meeting, you might get hooked.

In the afternoon we will finally welcome Jenny Adin-Christie, who was booked to come sometime ago but had to postpone her visit. From what I have seen of her work Jenny will get a warm response and there will be plenty to admire and enjoy.

A Selection of Millefiori Brooches, including hearts, round brooches and butterfly brooches - CopyJenny’s talk provides a unique insight into the now extinct form of Apprenticeship training, and the following life and career of a professional embroiderer. This includes the insightful, fully illustrated story behind the broad range of notable commissions which Jenny has been privileged to be part of, both in the conservation and restoration of antique textiles and in the production of new works of art.
